If someone told me 3 years ago that I would be writing this letter today, that I would be doing what I am doing today, I would have never guessed. While I know now that I had some deep intuition Mindful Littles would be reality, I was not consciously aware at the time. I was not aware of my own intuitive capacities, my own divine spark.
As I’ve gone deeper into holding the vision for our small but growing nonprofit, I have also obtained a deeper understanding of myself, of what it means to be conscious, what it means to be fiercely compassionate to myself and as a result to other beings. And most importantly, I am learning how to hold space for all of us, myself and my family included, to create transformational change in this world.
What started as a grassroots community effort in the town that has become my home is now expanding into communities throughout the Bay Area — into neighboring districts and cities in Contra Costa County, San Francisco and most notably the town of Paradise, which was devastated by the Camp Fire, California’s deadliest fire in history. I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to help bring healing to this beautiful town.
This is not a responsibility my team or I take lightly. Our Mindful Littles crew had the chance to visit Paradise together this summer. Each of us could feel the depth of loss experienced by our brothers and sisters there. A community once surrounded by a forest of tall trees has all but disappeared. What once thrived as a beloved home had lost its own spark.
As this town copes and rebuilds, Mindful Littles will be a strong guiding force to provide deep healing. Our Healing Initiative launches this year in all elementary school classrooms throughout the Paradise Unified School District, bringing compassion, building resiliency and sharing mindfulness practices with students, teachers, parents and the community.
My mantra this year is “The Impossible is Possible.” It is something I repeat often to myself. This intention allows me to show up with courage for a big vision for our work while keeping faith that it will unfold exactly as it should. And it will, with your help. We need your support to expand Peace in Paradise and in many communities beyond.
To that end, we’ve designated September for our month-long Campaign for Peace, celebrating with Peace, Love + Libations: A Fundraiser Supporting Mindful Littles in San Francisco on the International Day of Peace, September 21st. I ask you to stand with me, to stand with Mindful Littles and to believe that the Impossible is Possible. Join us for our Campaign for Peace and help us build a world of mindful littles.
With heartfelt gratitude,
