Nina Segall

Nina is a freshman at Miramonte High School in Orinda, California where her favorite subjects are English and Spanish. In addition to leading different activities at Mindful Littles service learning events, Nina also enjoys volunteering with Las Trampas School, Inc. and the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano.

“I was inspired to work with Mindful Littles when Tanuka came to my school to have us make Peace Kits for kids in Paradise after the Camp Fire,” says Nina. “I ended up delivering the Peace Kits with the Mindful Littles team and ever since I have been involved. I love teaching younger kids compassion and gratitude though service learning. It’s amazing to facilitate experiences where kids get excited about helping those in need and learning to use their breath to navigate emotions.”

Nina’s passion is to take better care of the earth and preserve its wild spaces so it’s no surprise that she loves spending time in nature hiking and gardening. If she could have one superpower it would be to “memorize concepts, facts, and other things very quickly. I think it would be a valuable skill and it would help me in school.” She also likes to play waterpolo and tennis, do yoga and her favorite playful practice is dancing. When she’s not dancing, you might hear her belting out “Brown Eyed Girl” by Van Morrison.

Nina lives in Orinda with her parents and twin sister.
