Nourishing Children from the Inside Out: Feeling Good and Doing Good Together

Our Nourishment Kit service events for families teaches young children why items like nutritious food or toothbrushes are essential is just as important as the act of giving itself.

Empowering Families with Compassion, Connection, and Healthy Habits

Our programs include instructional lessons to guide families through age-appropriate discussions about food insecurity that are accessible for the youngest children. By connecting deeply to a universal feeling of hunger, for example, children relate to how nutritious foods impact our emotional and physical health.

In addition, throughout their program experience, kids and their grownups learn simple feel-good habits, like a breath or gratitude practice, while serving the greater good. The simple act of doing good as a family becomes a meaningful experience that helps children feel connected, capable, and kind while reinforcing life-long healthy habits families can practice at home.

Strengthening the Family-School Connection Through Service

Over the past eight years, Bay Area families have created over 80,000 meal serving and bundled more than 20,000 diapers. In the process, they’re not only supporting others, they’re deepening their own family bonds and modeling compassion in action. Bringing our family compassion programs to schools builds on this powerful connection: families engage with each other and their school communities while doing good, fostering a deep sense of belonging.
