Our first Community Mixer of the year brought together local parents, board members, staff, volunteers, and new faces to mingle and share why they support Mindful Littles.
What an incredible evening of friends, family, community, and leadership!
Board member, Anand Desai, who works at Captial Management firm Penserra, shared why he and his company are Mindful Littles fans: “We [Penserra] picked an organization that works where we work, where we’re stakeholders in the community.”
Our quarterly adult Community Mixers are our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the community and to showcase the work we’re doing both locally and in Butte County to help alleviate the youth mental health crisis. Our focus in 2023 is our Food for Good mindful service program, which we will bring to nine schools in Butte County. Additionally, we host monthly mindful service learning events in the Lamorinda area. These events are a great way for families to learn about a the challenges faced by a specific community, like foster youth, then assemble kits that help support that community.
“It was so impactful to hear all the stories of how people found Mindful Littles and what our organization means to them,” said Hannah Jacobs, Community Engagement Manager. “One local mother, Meera, has even launched a personal fundraiser in honor of her birthday and first marathon this month. Clearly, we are doing something right and with the support of folks like Meera, we can keep on doing it!”
Thank you to Create & Flow Studio for donating their beautiful space for the event and to Lamorinda Tooth Buds for their generous sponsorship. Look out for our next Community Mixer coming in April 2023. We hope you can join us.
