Our Peace & Kindness Carnival is always amazing and partnering with Orinda Parks & Recreation for this year’s Carnival made it even more fun!
Mindful Littles and Orinda Parks & Recreation teamed up to celebrate the International Day of Peace at this one-of-a-kind event. Families coming out for the final Orinda Concert in the Park for 2023 were treated to the 5th Annual Peace & Kindness Carnival as well. Not only did they rock out to the songs of Patron Latin Rhythms, they also made peace sign art, played giant Joke Jenga and other carnival games, and assembled dental hygiene kits for underserved youth.
“By making the Carnival free, we really just wanted to say ‘thank you’ to the Lamorinda community for supporting our mission to uplift youth mental health,” said Mindful Littles Founder & CEO Tanuka Gordon. “Meeting so many new families who want to engage with us to help support youth struggling with mental health — and right now so many communities are experiencing this — is truly energizing.”
Partnering with Orinda Parks and Recreation’s Summer Concert series to host the carnival this year was a natural extension of the organization’s commitment to community connections. Mindful Littles’ currently partners with more than 40 nonprofits. More than 6,000 Care Kits have been assembled by youth, students, and grown-ups, and delivered to these organizations to support youth mental health.
In addition to partnering with local nonprofits, Mindful Littles also connects with local businesses. Workplace programs bring mindful service to the workplace while corporate sponsorships help sustain school and community programs. This year’s Carnival was sponsored by two local businesses, Lamorinda Tooth Buds and Penserra.
